The arrival of an elite zombie usually coincides with a general feeling of terror. They are always much larger in stature than the grunts, and often carry gnarly, highly damaging weapons. Durability is also another trait that makes the elite a particularly frustrating enemy. Each has their own unique weakness which you must exploit in order to take them down, so be mindful of that when they are hurtling your way!

Examples:

Heavy Gunner - Monstrous entity carrying twin MG42's. Slow moving but with higher health and damage.

Strengths:

  • Heavily armoured.
  • Significant health improvement.
  • High damage output.

Weaknesses:

  • Once helmet has been shot off, shooting the head can cause significant damage to Gunner.
  • Slow moving.

Flamer - Large, faster moving elite that carries a highly damaging flame thrower. Will sprint unexpectedly.

Strengths:

  • Unpredictable movement speed.
  • High damage output.
  • Improved armour.

Weaknesses:

  • Gas tanks on back can be shot at in order to blow up Flamer.

Butcher - Weilding a large, savage looking buzz saw, this elite is a fearsome and deadly opponent.

Strengths:

  • Highly damaging weapon when in close proximity.
  • Helmet protects from headshots.
  • Buzzsaw deflects bullets.

Weaknesses:

  • Slower moving.
  • Can be slowed to stopping point after being exposed to excessive firepower.
